About
James Albarn is a filmmaker, writer, podcast host and musician based in London.
He is the host of The Last Line, an eclectic interview podcast that features conversations with comedians, mountaineers, musicians, athletes and even a 9/11 survivor. He also co-hosts Crew’s Next: The Podcast About Film with Elsa Grace.
In 2022, James was shortlisted for The #Merky Books New Writers’ Prize. During his time at film school he was commissioned to write a feature film for production company Dealer’s Inn Productions and worked as a reviews and features writer for websites such as The Metropolist and Den of Geek.
James is also a musician and in 2019 released his debut EP, Light Shining Hurts followed by his 2021 single I’m Not Coming Home. In 2022, James produced the album Do I Feel Like I’m Happy Now? for singer/songwriter Evie Balfe and accompanies her in her live shows including during a live session for BBC Introducing.
James also works as a filmmaker for a number of corporate clients and spent two years working at award-winning creative agency Brand & Deliver, editing high-profile videos for clients such as AMD, Intel, LG, Three and Lenovo.
James is a graduate of Central Film School London and holds a 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in Practical Filmmaking.
